pentax k01This is a first look for specs on the new Pentax K-01.
Said to release March 2012 and price in the seven hundred dollar range.
At first look the K-01’s design is similar to the retro models of current. There is no view finder on this mirror-less camera , not sure how well that will go with camera enthusiast. Nevertheless this is one sexy camera designed by Marc Newson.

What could set it apart from the pack is the edition of the new 40mm f/2.8 Slim Pancake lens. It also appears the new K-01 has a HDR mode that allows it to take photo at a single exposure with limited contrast. And dedicated Red and Green buttons.

Haha! Well, I don’t come from a town that snows, but all my life I grew up really close to Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen so it was never too long of a drive berfoe you were just surrounded by snow. Sometimes literally, too once an old boyfriend and I drove to Mt. Lassen and we had to go through a narrow path with walls of snow as tall as our truck! I did hear about SF’s snow day, though I didn’t know that it actually came to fruition! Too funny about the traffic jams. It’s sort of like that here in Portland, too. One or two flakes and people are jumping in their cars to try and get home asap when it ends up snowing for like 5 minutes altogether!

Congratulations on your new old lens I have one M42 lens and one T-mount lens. Both work very well. The T-mount have its own adapter so it works like a nomral K-mount lens cause you screw the adapter on the lens then mount it on the camera like a nomral lens. The M42 is different. You can screw on the adapter before and mount it nomrally, but you can’t remove it like that, you have to screw it off then take off the adapter, so it takes a little more time, but it’s OK.
